Ryan Johansen: Traded to Nashville
Johansen was traded to the Predators in exchange for Seth Jones on Wednesday.
Analysis:
A blockbuster deal for both sides of the equation, as the Predators will receive a 23-year-old former 33-goal scorer in Johansen, in exchange for a 21-year-old number-one defender of the future in Jones. Johansen simply did not have a sustainable relationship with Columbus head coach John Tortorella, making his departure from the club seem almost inevitable. Johansen's production has dipped a bit this season, but he'll immediately be tied with Filip Forsberg for the Predators' scoring lead among forwards with 26 points (six goals, 20 assists). The former first-round pick will slot into a top-six role with his new club, and will undoubtedly provide the Preds' with an offensive spark they've lacked all season.
