Report: Blackhawks' Daley 'available' on trade market

The Chicago Blackhawks could be ready to part with one of their defenseman.

Trevor Daley is "most certainly available," according to Bob McKenzie on TSN's "Insider Trading."

"He was brought in to be a top four defenseman, but it hasn't worked out that way under coach Joel Quenneville and the coaching staff," McKenzie said Thursday.

Daley was acquired from the Dallas Stars in the Patrick Sharp trade this summer. The 32-year-old has just three assists in 19 games so far this season, with two years remaining at a cap hit of $3.3 million.

"If he's not gonna be a top four defenseman for the Chicago Blackhawks, other teams are inquiring about him and seeing if they can get him out of there," McKenzie said. "The Hawks aren't gonna give him away, but he's most certainly available."
