Blackhawks' Teravainen day to day with minor injury

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA TODAY Sports

Chicago Blackhawks forward Teuvo Teravainen suffered an upper-body injury and didn't return against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.

Teravainen left the game early in the second period, but the cause of the injury is unknown.

Head coach Joel Quenneville said after the game that the 21-year-old is day to day and the injury isn't serious, but Teravainen's status for Friday's contest against the Calgary Flames hasn't been determined.

Teravainen has four goals and five assists in 19 games this season.
