SC Bern fires Guy Boucher
One week after Guy Boucher announced he wouldn't pursue a contract extension from SC Bern, the Swiss club apparently released him outright from his head coaching post.
The termination - which SC Bern stated is unrelated to Boucher's decision to leave at season's end - comes on the heels of a fourth straight loss and with the team currently out of postseason position.
Boucher is expected to be a candidate for NHL head coaching jobs when opportunities arise.
Boucher spoke to TSN's Bob McKenzie on Wednesday morning, confirming his intent to find work in the NHL.
Boucher: "I want to coach in NHL again. That's my goal." Boucher and his family will return to North America but not sure yet where to live.

He was believed to be heavily vetted by the Toronto Maple Leafs before the hiring of Mike Babcock.
