Report: Wife of Blackhawks' Keith loses bid for over $150K in spousal support

The wife of Duncan Keith has reportedly lost a bid to get the Chicago Blackhawks defenseman to pay her over $150,000 in spousal support.

Kelly Keith lost an interim bid in B.C. Supreme Court that sought the payout, plus over $69,000 a month in child support, according to Kelly Sinoski of the Vancouver Sun.

Justice George MacIntosh ruled the claim was “disproportionately high, at least in this interim stage,” ordering the hockey player to pay Kelly $45,000 per month for herself and $15,000 monthly to support their son, Colton.

Kelly claimed she suffered "economic hardship and disadvantages" following the breakdown of their marriage in 2014. Duncan reportedly argued his wife was due $15,000 in spousal support and another $10,000 for Colton.

The blue-liner, who signed a 13-year, $72-million contract extension with the Blackhawks in 2009, previously paid his wife $20,000 per month for a mortgage and other property expenses.

The pair met as teenagers and began living together in 2009, before separating last year.
