Pavelec backstops Jets to 1st road win over Bruins in 8 years

Bob DeChiara / USA TODAY Sports

The Winnipeg Jets took care of business in their season opener and tossed a monkey off their backs in the process.

With a 6-2 win over the Bruins, the Jets managed to win their first game in Boston since 2007, when they were known as the Atlanta Thrashers.

Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec made 31 saves in the victory, with his only misstep coming off a rocket from David Pastrnak.

Earning a win there wasn't lost on him.
