The Pittsburgh Penguins are nearly back to full health.

General Manager Jim Rutherford said Thursday defensemen Kris Letang and Olli Maatta, along with forward Pascal Dupuis, have been cleared to start training camp when it opens Friday.

Letang was cleared to resume workouts in June. He suffered a concussion March 28 after being hit by Arizona Coyotes forward Shane Doan, and missed the rest of the season.

Maatta had a cancerous tumor removed in November, contracted the mumps virus in December, and underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in January. He said in July his goal was to be ready for training camp.

Dupuis was already cleared to play in June after being diagnosed last season with a blood clot in his lungs.

Rutherford said only forward Eric Fehr won't be ready to begin camp. The 30-year-old had elbow surgery in June after being injured while playing for the Washington Capitals in their first-round playoff series against the New York Islanders.

Fehr signed a three-year, $6-million deal with the Penguins in July.
