Maple Leafs sign 2015 draft pick Travis Dermott to 3-year deal

The Toronto Maple Leafs signed defenseman Travis Dermott to a three-year entry-level contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Dermott was selected by the club in the second round of this year's draft after tallying eight goals and 45 points in 61 games during the regular season for the OHL's Erie Otters.

The 18-year-old led all OHL defenseman in scoring during the playoffs, recording five goals and 17 points in 20 games.

Dermott will be one of 13 defenseman attending Canada's National Junior Team Summer Development Camp, which kicks off July 29.
