Nonis named special assignment scout, consultant to GM for Ducks

Dave Nonis has officially moved on.

The former Toronto Maple Leafs general manager has agreed with the Anaheim Ducks to become a special assignment scout and consultant to general manager Bob Murray.

Nonis was reportedly given permission to speak with the Ducks yesterday.

The 49-year-old was dismissed from his position with the Maple Leafs in April. He has ties to the Anaheim franchise, having served as senior adviser of hockey operations with the club in 2008.
