The Dallas Stars have signed Patrick Eaves to a one-year contract.

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News says the contract is valued at $1.15 million.

Eaves, a first-round pick in the 2003 NHL Draft, scored 14 goals and added 13 assists in 47 games last season. It was his best season from a points perspective since 2006-07, when he played for the Ottawa Senators.

The 31-year-old unrestricted free agent earned $650,000 in 2014-15.
