The cap-crunched Boston Bruins have reportedly re-signed defenseman Adam McQuaid to a four-year, $11-million contract extension, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.
The agreement comes just moments after general manager Don Sweeney agreed to send Dougie Hamilton to the Calgary Flames for the 15th-overall pick and a pair of selections in the second round.
McQuaid made 63 appearances for the Bruins last season, compiling seven points and 85 penalty minutes.
He will make $2.75 million for the next four seasons, which is exactly half of Hamilton's reported initial ask.
