The Vancouver Canucks might be looking to bring a local boy home.
The team has reportedly inquired about Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic, according to Iain MacIntyre of the Vancouver Sun.
MacIntyre suggests that most NHL clubs have probably had a sniff at Lucic. The fact that he is from Vancouver could also make the Canucks an intriguing destination.
The Bruins are currently up near the cap with over $64 million committed to players on the roster next season and restricted free agents Dougie Hamilton, Ryan Spooner, and Brett Connolly yet to be signed.
Lucic is set to make $6 million next season, so a deal could bring relief to the team's bank.
The 27-year-old had 18 goals and 44 points in 81 games last season.
