The New York Rangers are ready to continue business as usual.
The team was eliminated from the postseason by the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday and have decided to swing a deal with the very team that eliminated them.
New York has acquired a seventh-round pick in the 2015 draft from the Lightning in exchange for defenseman Daniel Walcott.
The pick originally belonged to the Rangers, who sent it to the Lightning as part of the Martin St. Louis-Ryan Callahan swap.
The Rangers selected Walcott in the fifth round of the 2014 draft after successful seasons with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the QMJHL.
