The Tampa Bay Lightning countered a blip on home ice with arguably their most complete showing of the postseason Monday night, silencing the New York Rangers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final.
Now Jon Cooper wants a little more.
"We put ourselves in a position to advance." the coach told reporters. "Now we have to raise the bar a little bit higher; we know the Rangers are going to, so we have to match that."
Cooper has clearly done his homework.
New York survived three elimination games versus the Washington Capitals in the second round and has won eight of their last nine overall dating back to last season.
