Head coaches Bob Hartley of the Calgary Flames, Peter Laviolette of the Nashville Predators and Alain Vigneault of the New York Rangers were announced as finalists for the Jack Adams Award on Wednesday.

The award is given annually to the NHL coach that most contributed to his team's success.

Hartley led a supposedly rebuilding Flames squad into the postseason after a 45-30-7 finish to the regular season.

The 54-year-old is in his third season with Calgary.

Laviolette led the Predators to a surprising second place finish in the Central Division with a 47-25-10 record in his first season with the team.

The coach added a much-needed offensive element to the team's strong defense corps and got the most out of players such as Mike Ribeiro (62 points) and Filip Forsberg (63 points).

Vigneault continued his success with the Rangers, leading them to the Presidents' Trophy with a record of 53-22-7.

The coach led the Rangers to the Stanley Cup Final last season and looks to replicate the same success in his second year with the squad.
