McDavid has OHL playoff points record in sight ahead of championship round
Nine points is a lot to ask of most players in a best-of-seven playoff series, but Connor McDavid isn't like most players.
McDavid has tied the franchise record for points in a playoff run with 42 in 15 contests and is nine shy of the OHL record of 51. He recorded 19 points in the Erie Otters' six-game Western Conference final victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, besting his franchise record of 14 points set in the previous round against the London Knights.
The Otters will face the Oshawa Generals to decide who will win the OHL championship and represent the league at the 2015 Memorial Cup. McDavid - who did not face the Generals during the regular season - has only been held to a single point in three postseason games during Erie's run, so Oshawa's defense will have its hands full.
