What's Up Tonight in the NHL: Blackhawks and Ducks look to take strangleholds on their series

Kelvin Kuo / Reuters

There are two games on tap for Tuesday and two teams fighting for their playoff lives.

The Minnesota Wild and Calgary Flames are both hoping to capture their first wins of their series - and trying to avoid going down 3-0.

Game Time
Chicago @ Minnesota 8:00 p.m. E.T.
Anaheim @ Calgary 9:30 p.m. E.T.

Here are three things you need to know:

Blackhawks continue to own the Wild:

With Sunday's 4-1 win in Game 2, the Chicago Blackhawks continued their dominance over Minnesota.

The Blackhawks are now 10-3 all-time in playoff games against the Wild, and improved to 3-0 against them in Game 2s.  Given that the Blackhawks own home-ice advantage in the series, the fact they're 8-0 at the United Center doesn't bode well for the Wild either.

Ducks can do no wrong:

The Flames looked like a Cinderella story in the making. After surprising many to make the playoffs and getting past the Vancouver Canucks, it looks like the clock has struck midnight in the second round.

The Anaheim Ducks have seemingly had their way with the Flames, just as they did with the Winnipeg Jets

The Ducks are 6-0 during the postseason, the first team to put such a playoff run together since the 2009 Pittsburgh Penguins. They have the most goals per game and the fewest goals against so far, meaning they've been dominant in every facet.

Flames could be a different team at home:

After being shelled 6-1 in Game 1, the Flames had some pushback in Game 2, but still fell 3-0. Now they're on the ropes as they head back to Calgary.

If there is something the Flames can hang their hat on, it's the fact they are just one of three clubs in the postseason that's undefeated on home ice. The team won all three games at the Scotiabank Saddledome in round one.

The Flames will need to rediscover their offense if they want to get back in the win column: after scoring 18 goals in four games in the first round, they've only found the back of the net once in two games against the Ducks.
