Report: Coyotes' 1st-rounder Brendan Perlini joining AHL Pirates

The end of the Niagara Ice Dogs season will mark the beginning of Brendan Perlini's pro career.
The Arizona Coyotes have added their 12th-overall selection from last June onto the Portland Pirates' AHL playoff roster, reports Chris Roy of the Maine Hockey Journal.
Perlini scored 26 goals and 60 points in an injury-shortened third season with the Ice Dogs, who were eliminated from the OHL playoffs last week at the hands of the Oshawa Generals.
He will compete for a roster position next year as part of the stable of exciting prospects in the Coyotes' system.
