Lecavalier says he can't succeed with Flyers as long as Berube is coach

Jean-Yves Ahern / USA TODAY Sports

Vincent Lecavalier didn't slip out the back door after the Philadelphia Flyers gathered up their belongings.

Lecavalier, scratched 17 times in total during the season, confirmed with reporters that he cannot be a success with the Flyers as long as head coach Craig Berube continues to run the bench.

Already earning two contracts after being shown the door by the Tampa Bay Lightning, a team he captained for seven seasons, Lecavalier could become the first player ever bought out twice.

He still has three years at a cap-gouging $4.5 million hit left on his current deal.
