Oh, right. That whole school thing.
NCAA standouts Jack Eichel and Jimmy Vesey have been invited to represent the United States at the World Hockey Championship next month, but will have to convince their schools to conduct finals overseas, reports College Hockey News' Mike McMahon.
Boston University forward Eichel is expected to be the second-overall selection in June's NHL Entry Draft. The Terrier joined Paul Kariya as the only freshmen to capture the Hobey Baker Award, scoring 26 goals and 71 points in 40 games.
Vesey, a junior at Harvard, is a third-round pick of the Nashville Predators.
Update: Eichel has accepted his invitation, according to the tournament's Facebook page.
