"Probably not for a couple more months," Kane said. "I want to take as much time and be cautious of the shoulder and make sure it's 100 percent so I don't have any setbacks going forward."

Analysis:

Kane is expected to be full-go for training camp. The Sabres traded for him knowing his medical situation and gave up a lot to do so, and the plan is for him to have a prominent role as the team works through a rebuild -- one that may include a key future linemate for Kane, with as Buffalo's guaranteed to get either Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel in the draft.
