Jaromir Jagr appears eager to continue his NHL career with the Florida Panthers.
Jagr says he and the Panthers are very close to agreeing on a new contract following Florida's season finale against the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.
"I want to be here, they want me here," the 43-year-old told reporters.
Jagr earned $3.5 million with $2 million in bonuses in the final year of his current deal - a two-year pact signed with the Devils in 2013. He is fourth in all-time scoring with 1,802 points.
