VIDEO: Hurricanes' Lowe fights Flyers' Lecavalier twice in 1st game

Eric Hartline / USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the NHL, kid.

Keegan Lowe played in his first career game Thursday for the Carolina Hurricanes against the Philadelphia Flyers and made a good first impression.

Lowe, the son of Edmonton Oilers president of hockey operations Kevin Lowe, fought veteran forward Vincent Lecavalier not once, but twice.

The two dropped the gloves towards the end of the first period and it's safe to say Lowe got the last laugh, or punch.

The two dropped the gloves again in the second period, this time with Lecavalier getting the better of the rookie.

Lowe must have been following in the footsteps of his dad, who dropped the gloves in his first-ever game with the Oilers
