VIDEO: Devils' Gomez ejected after vicious elbow on Canadiens' Emelin

Scott Gomez hit the showers early in this one. 

The New Jersey Devils center received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for this elbow on Alexei Emelin during the second period of Friday's game against the Montreal Canadiens.

Emelin, who was able to remain in the game, had leveled Gomez into the board seconds earlier, a clear impetus for this seemingly unequal response.

As such, the play may warrant a review from NHL head office.
