Patrick Kane practices for 1st time since having surgery

Dennis Wierzbicki / USA Today

Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane took the ice with his teammates Wednesday for the first time since undergoing surgery to repair his broken left clavicle.

He took part in practice wearing a white no-contact jersey, according to Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times. Kane was expected to miss 12 weeks after having surgery on Feb. 25.

He took shots on goaltender Corey Crawford on Wednesday, exactly five weeks after having the procedure.

The official timetable for Kane's return hasn't changed, but this is certainly a welcome sight for Blackhawks fans.
