The NHL playoff picture got a little more clear, an ageless hero showed he still has plenty left in the tank and one of the league's brightest stars inched closer to an impressive milestone.

Here are three things you need to know about the weekend in the NHL:

A quartet of teams are playoff bound

Three more clubs joined the New York Rangers in the postseason on Saturday, starting with the Nashville Predators, who clinched with a 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals.

The Anaheim Ducks also booked a spot with a 3-2 victory over the New York Islanders and the Montreal Canadiens earned a berth with a 3-2 overtime win over the Florida Panthers.

Jagr isn't done yet

Forty-three-year-old Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr scored two more goals Sunday, giving him 15 on the season and lifting Florida to a 4-2 win over the Ottawa Senators.

Jagr also tallied an assist in Saturday's loss to the Canadiens and now has 12 points in 14 games since joining the Panthers in a trade with the New Jersey Devils.

Florida general manager Dale Tallon said he won't negotiate a contract extension with Jagr until season's end, but the veteran has shown he's still capable of contributing in his 21st season.

Ovechkin is on a mission

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin recorded his 48th and 49th goals in Sunday's 5-2 win over the New York Rangers.

Ovechkin has a nine-goal cushion over Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos and Rangers winger Rick Nash for the league lead, and the 50-goal plateau is squarely in his sights with six games to go.
