The Los Angeles Kings are exploiting a weakness in the New York Rangers' defense to keep their playoff push alive Tuesday.

Marian Gaborik and Jeff Carter both scored easy goals off passes near the top of the crease to put Los Angeles in front against the Metropolitan Division's top team.

Gaborik roofed a pass from Anze Kopitar 4:35 into the second period and Carter tapped home his team-leading 26th goal off a feed from Dwight King 65 seconds into the third.
