Washington Capitals defenseman Nate Schmidt was sent to AHL Hershey on Tuesday.
Analysis:
With Tim Gleason (elbow) expected to return for Thursday's game against the Devils, Schmidt may have seen his last NHL action of the season. He has four points, 10 PIM and a minus-two rating over 13:53 of ice time in 39 NHL appearances this season.
