Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos rarely drops the gloves, but when he does, he means business.
Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand tested the Lightning captain's patience early and often in Sunday's game, and Stamkos took matters into his own hands - or fists - midway through the first period.
Marchand went after Lightning forwards Tyler Johnson and Valtteri Filppula before Stamkos defended his teammates by wrestling Marchand to the ice.
Stamkos's only previous NHL fight came on Nov. 26, 2008 against New York Rangers forward Nikolay Zherdev.
