Luongo (shoulder) has been ruled out for the Panthers' next two games, Jameson Olive of FOX Sports Florida reports.

Analysis:

The Panthers haven't revealed the results from the CT scan Luongo required Wednesday on his shoulder/collarbone area, but it doesn't seem as though the team is sounding the alarm on a long-term absence just yet. However, Luongo will miss at least Thursday's game against the Stars and Saturday's tilt with the Islanders, as the Panthers continue to assess his condition. For what it's worth, the Panthers are hopeful Luongo will be able to return to the net next Thursday versus the Jets, but he'll obviously need to show the requisite improvement for the team to sign off on his return. Dan Ellis is expected to start in goal the next two games with No. 2 netminder Al Montoya (groin) also unavailable.
