Jeff Carter is redefining the meaning of shorthanded.
Carter scored early in the second period of Tuesday's game against the Edmonton Oilers by redirecting Tyler Toffoli's shot past Ben Scrivens with one hand on his stick while the Los Angeles Kings were killing a penalty. The one-handed tip appeared to surprise Scrivens, who allowed the puck to slide between his legs.
Carter has three goals in his last two games, reaching the 20-goal plateau for the eighth time in his career.
