NHL Game Summary - Los Angeles at Winnipeg

Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - Andrew Ladd had two goals as the Winnipeg Jets grabbed a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday.

Drew Stafford, Tyler Myers and Blake Wheeler each scored a goal for the Jets, who had lost three of four coming in. Michael Hutchinson turned aside 18 shots in the win.

"I thought from start to finish we were consistent the whole game," said Myers. "Even when they got their first goal I thought we responded really well. We came back with one, and we didn't stop pushing even after getting one back. So I think it was a really good effort for a full 60."

Jeff Carter scored both goals for the Kings, who have lost three straight following an eight-game winning streak.

"I do not even think it was close to be honest with you," said Carter. "We know what to expect coming in here. We have played here for the last four or five years. We did not play near close to what we should be playing to even come close to getting two points."

Jonathan Quick allowed four goals on 21 shots through two periods before being replaced by Martin Jones, who stopped all seven shots he faced in relief.

Winnipeg scored the only goal of the first period as a turnover behind the LA net saw the puck come out front and Stafford chip it in at 6:34.

The Kings tied the game at 7:18 of the second as Carter rushed down the right wing and beat Hutchinson cleanly with a wrister.

Winnipeg regained the lead at 10:43 as Myers had the puck at the right point and skated down to the circle before picking his spot.

The Jets scored just 42 seconds later as Ladd pushed in a rebound from in front, and it was a 4-1 game with 44 seconds left in the second as a turnover in the neutral zone saw Ladd finish the play off with a wrister from the slot.

Carter's second of the game was a backhand of a loose puck from the slot with 5:11 left in the game.

Wheeler scored into the empty net with just under a minute to play.
