Veilleux was placed on waivers Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Analysis:

The transaction should help Minnesota with roster flexibility as the trade deadline approaches. Of course, Veilleux only has two points through 12 NHL appearances this season, so he may just go unclaimed.
