New York Rangers assistant coach Ulf Samuelsson will have a pretty good vantage point for his son's NHL debut.
Arizona Coyotes center Henrik Samuelsson will play his first NHL game Thursday night against the New York Rangers, according to multiple reports.
Ulf is in charge of the Rangers' defense corps.
"To be able to do it in New York is extra special," Henrik told Newsday's Steve Zipay.
Henrik scored 10 goals and added 15 assists in 50 games with the AHL's Portland Pirates.
His brother Philip has 10 points in 29 contests with the Pirates. He made his NHL debut last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
