Las Vegas group closing in on 7,000 season-ticket deposits

The Hockey Vision Las Vegas group announced Monday they have received deposits on nearly 7,000 sets of season tickets and voiced optimism they will indeed reach their goal of 10,000.

"The support of the Las Vegas community throughout this campaign has been incredible," lead prospective owner Bill Foley said in a press release. 

"We are extremely pleased to be able to report that - in less than two weeks - we are almost two-thirds of the way to our goal of having the 10,000 deposits we are seeking in order to demonstrate that Las Vegas can support its first major league sports franchise!"

Foley's group launched a season-ticket drive on Feb. 10 in an effort to prove the long-term viability of the Las Vegas market.
