Martin Erat appears on track to be a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Blackhawks, the second straight game he'll head to the press box, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.

Erat appears on track to be a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Blackhawks, the second straight game he'll head to the press box, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:

Erat closed 2014 on a high note, but has seen his production dry up in seven January contests, delivering no goals, two assists and just three shot attempts. The rebuilding Coyotes don't gain much from carving out ice time for the 33-year-old Erat, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him be traded prior to the deadline.
