Oilers' Hall on scoring drought: 'I've never been through a stretch like this in my career'

Taylor Hall knows he needs to score more.

The Edmonton Oilers have one of the worst offenses in the league, ranking among the bottom four in goals per game, even-strength scoring and power-play efficiency, and Hall's regression is partly the reason.

The 2010 first-overall pick recorded 80 points last season, but has struggled to keep that pace in 2014-15. He has five goals in 29 games since returning from a knee injury.

"I've never been through a stretch like this in my career," Hall told Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal

Hall's lack of production is likely why he's being mentioned in trade rumors - a stark change from past seasons, when he was widely considered untouchable.

Hall finished last season tied with Steven Stamkos and Matt Duchene in points per 60 minutes. He is 105th in 2014-15, which is still good enough to lead Edmonton by a sizable margin.
