Predators' Rinne day-to-day with lower-body injury; will be re-evaluated

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA TODAY Sports

Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne is officially day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will be further evaluated this week, the club told reporters on Tuesday night.

So it would seem that Rinne avoided the worst of it.

He left Tuesday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks following an awkward collision with Vancouver forward Chris Higgins.

The Finnish puck stopper is currently a front runner for the Vezina and Masterton trophies, and has an outside shot at the Hart Trophy awarded to the league's most valuable player.

He leads all NHL starters in save percentage, among goaltenders who have started at least 30 games.
