GIF: Pekka Rinne robs Nathan Gerbe with the back of his leg

Pekka Rinne is the early favorite for the 2015 Vezina Trophy, and for good reason.

To wit, the Nashville Predators goaltender, who boasts one of the NHL's top save percentages (.929 heading into Tuesday's game) managed to thwart Nathan Gerbe of the Carolina Hurricanes with the back of his leg and while facing his own net.

Gerbe wasn't credited with an official shot, and therefore Rinne didn't technically register a save, but what matters is the puck stayed out of the net and it's all thanks to the goaltender's incredible athleticism.
