Nino Niederreiter matched his career-high in goals with a little flair Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Minnesota Wild forward was awarded a penalty shot after Marian Hossa tripped him on a breakaway in the third period. Niederreiter went to a backhand deke and roofed the puck over the outstretched pad of Antti Raanta for one of the nicer goals of his young career.
The goal knotted the score at 3-3, but Chicago would eventually prevail 5-3.
Niederreiter scored 14 goals in 82 games last season - his first campaign with Minnesota. The 22-year-old has matched that total in 29 games on fewer than half the shots.
