Ilya Bryzgalov returns to NHL action as Maple Leafs chase Ducks' Andersen

Tim Heitman / USA TODAY Sports

When the Toronto Maple Leafs forced the Anaheim Ducks to pull Frederik Andersen with their fourth goal on Tuesday night, the Ducks replaced the Danish netminder with space cadet veteran Ilya Bryzgalov.

It was Bryzgalov's first appearance in an NHL game since the second round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Final.

Andersen allowed four goals on 20 shots before he was given the hook by Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau.
