Sharks' Thornton passes Beliveau on NHL's all-time points list

Joe Thornton honored the late Jean Beliveau in his own way Thursday night.
With a pair of assists in a win over the Minnesota Wild, Thornton leapfrogged the Montreal Canadiens icon on the NHL's all-time scoring list with his 1,220th point.
With 0-2—2 in #MINvsSJS, @SanJoseSharks J. Thornton (349-871—1,220) passed J. Béliveau (507-712—1,219) for 39th on NHL’s all-time PTS list.
