The old cat doesn't want to be left home alone.

Roberto Luongo will travel with his Florida Panthers teammates on a two-game road trip that features stops in Columbus and Detroit, the club announced Sunday.

The goalie is believed to have suffered an arm strain Nov. 26 and has been held out of game action since. Head coach Gerard Gallant indicated Luongo is looking good in practice, but wouldn't say for sure whether he would play.

The fact that Dan Ellis was sent back to the AHL suggests Luongo will be able to serve as backup for Monday's game against the Blue Jackets, at the very least.

In 17 games this season, Luongo posted a record of 7-5-5 with a save percentage of .927.
