Blackhawks' Raanta starts Saturday vs. Oilers

The Chicago Blackhawks will turn to backup goaltender Antti Raanta when they face off against the Edmonton Oilers at the Rexall Place on Saturday night, according to CSN's Tracey Myers.

Raanta, 25, has been solid in three appearances so far this season and has managed a .933 save percentage and a goals-against average of 2.03. Despite his solid performance, he's amassed a 1-2-0 record playing behind a Blackhawks club that has been unlucky offensively in the early going this season.

The Blackhawks are playing a set of back-to-back road games this weekend, beginning with the Oilers, and finishing when the Blackhawks travel to Vancouver to face their old Western Conference rival the Vancouver Canucks.

That Raanta is getting the game against Edmonton, with Corey Crawford likely to start Sunday's game in Vancouver, tells you everything you need to know about which Western Canadian club Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville rates as the bigger threat.
