Nick Foligno: Exits with Possible Hand Injury

Foligno headed to the locker room after hurting his hand following a third-period fight with Brendan Smith in Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the Red Wings, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.

Analysis:

It was a rather pointless fight with the Blue Jackets trailing 4-0 at the time, and the team can only hope Foligno didn't pay a major price for his misdeeds. He may have just been held out for the remainder of the contest as a precaution since the outcome was already decided, but expect further information on his condition to become available following Wednesday's practice. Foligno has supplied an astounding nine goals and nine assists over 17 contests this season, so a potential absence could prove costly to the Blue Jackets.
