Paquette was removed from Tuesday's game against the Islanders due to a lower-body injury, Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune reports.

Analysis:

It appeared Paquette obtained the injury while he was blocking a shot during a penalty kill in the first period. With Brett Connolly set to return to action Thursday, Paquette was at risk of getting squeezed out of a regular role, so the injury may provide a convenient excuse for the team to either stash him on IR or send him back to the minors. The promising young forward has five goals and a plus-5 rating in 11 games with the Bolts.
