Blue Jackets claim Connauton off waivers from Stars

The Columbus Blue Jackets dipped their toes into the waiver-wire pool Tuesday.

The club claimed defenseman Kevin Connauton, who was waived by the Dallas Stars on Monday. The Blue Jackets lost Fedor Tyutin to injury, prompting the addition of help on the blue line.

The 24-year-old, a third-round pick of the Vancouver Canucks in 2009, has one goal and nine assists in 44 career games.
