Sabres reassign Jake McCabe to Rochester (AHL)

Defenseman Jake McCabe (undisclosed) was assigned to AHL Rochester on Thursday.

Analysis:

Fellow injured blueliner Mark Pysyk was also sent to Rochester on Thursday, but it's not clear if both will be there to stay, or just as part of a rehab assignment. The Sabres have received miserable play from their defense in the early stages of the season, and the addition of McCabe might represent an upgrade over one of their incumbent defensemen.
