Jeff Skinner: (Concussion) Will Not Play Thursday

Skinner (concussion) has been ruled out of Thursday's contest versus the Rangers, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.

Analysis:

Skinner joined the Hurricanes in New York and was on the ice for morning skate, but with only one full-contact practice on his ledger since sustaining the concussion, coach Bill Peters understandably wasn't comfortable using him Thursday. The Hurricanes will receive a much-needed five-day break in the schedule after Thursday's tilt, which should allow Skinner to pick up enough practice time before the team plays its next game Tuesday against Winnipeg.
