Ville Leino is heading back to Europe.
The free agent forward signed a one-year contract with KHL club Medvescak, according to Igor Eronko of Sports.ru.
Leino attended Boston Bruins training camp on a professional tryout offer after his previous NHL contract was bought out by the Buffalo Sabres in the offseason.
Unable to crack the roster, and with apparently no further options available in North America, the 31-year-old will attempt to find his game and extend his career in Zagreb.
Leino spent six seasons playing professionally in Sweden prior to making the jump to the NHL in 2008.
